Project Type: Digital Visitor Experience

Locations:
Aberdeen Art Gallery
Aberdeen Maritime Musuem

Year: 2022

Features: Interactive virtual tour with key wayfinding information, digital interactives and customer journey mapping.

Project Brief: Aberdeen City Council wanted to create a virtual walk around of both the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Aberdeen Maritime Museum and allow visitors to zoom in on all artworks and artefacts.

The virtual tour includes featured interactive items in each gallery that ‘pop-out’ when you click on them and allow users to read more detail about that artwork. Each of these artworks also contain an audio description in a variety of voices to share an interpretation of the items.

The virtual tours also allow less accessible areas of the museums to be made available via a screen in the museum, specifically the Aberdeen Maritime Museum, which is a collection of joined buildings including part access to the Provost Ross House, build in 1593.
